This July, the Florida Keys will welcome The Gates and next year will see the opening of Playa Largo Resort & Spa.
The Gates, scheduled to open in Key West in late July, will offer an energetic atmosphere and Cuban theme featuring a pool, with poolside dining and live music. Playa Largo Resort & Spa broke ground for construction in March, with an expected opening date in the summer of 2015. Part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, the luxury resort will sit on 14.5 exclusive waterfront acres with 154 rooms, 10 private bungalows, and a stand-alone beach house. The resort will also offer picturesque locations for weddings with a 6,000-sq.-ft. ballroom and formal lawns. There will also be a fitness center, two tennis courts, a basketball court, watersport rentals, and a pool, as well as a spa and salon. Families traveling with kids can take advantage of the Kids Activity and Nature Center, and for fishing aficionados, there will be a private marina where boaters can anchor down and enjoy lunch or dinner at Marina Grill.
