This Labor Day weekend, from Friday to Sunday (Aug. 29—Aug. 31), families can experience a slew of fun activities at the South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island.
On Friday evening, families can partake in a friendly competition of laser tag at the Laser Battle competition—guests 8 and older can participate—wearing laser battle gear and coaching from the Tropical Extreme staff. On Saturday afternoon, families can test their skills at a Beach Pong game before dining at The Pointe, the resort’s casual poolside restaurant, for the Cookout at the Pointe event ($24 per adult, $17 per child, and free for children 6 and under).
During the Summer Send Off Carnival event on Saturday, families can enjoy carnival games, a bounce house, face painting, and launch sky lanterns from the beach ($10 each), while on Sunday, they can participate in a Cornhole Tournament ($10 to play) with prizes awarded to the top teams, or participate in a fishing tournament from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. ($25 pp). Finally, on Sunday evening, families can wind down at the seaside cinema while munching on s’mores under the stars. Rates start at $269 per night.
