As Cunard Line’s flagship Queen Mary 2 turns 10 years old this year, your clients have two opportunities to get on board for two celebratory crossings in May.
Queen Mary 2 is the only passenger ship that has scheduled service crossing the Atlantic from New York, and travelers can take part in the 7-night commemorative Crossings on May 9 (westbound from Southampton, England) and May 16 (eastbound from New York). On both trips, guests will experience two speakers as part of Cunard’s Insights program: Commodore Ron Warwick, who was the first Master of Queen Mary 2, and Stephen Payne, who was in charge of the ship’s design.
Both speakers will attend a gala evening with passengers, and other special guests, including the vocalist/tenor Ben Makisi, magician Philip Hitchcock and violin duo Elektra, will also be on board. For those on the May 16 sailing, comedian Roy Walker will join the festivities.

The Queen Mary 2 holds the title for many things in the cruise industry: it’s the world’s tallest, longest, widest and most expensive ocean liner built, taller than even the Empire State Building if it were standing up. Since Queen Mary 2 started sailing in 2004, the ship has carried over 1.3 million passengers on 419 voyages in a total of 60 countries.
So what makes this luxurious ship so luxurious? Well for starters, there’s a Canyon Ranch SpaClub on board, as well as a planetarium at sea, and a library with views overlooking the bow and over 8,000 volumes stacked in lit bookcases. The ship also boasts the largest ballroom at sea, the Queens Room, and the Royal Court Theatre, where passengers can catch musicals and other productions.
